THE BENTINCK MINERS WELFARE

16TH FEBRUARY 2008

9pm - 4.30am

Weather = Dry, Cold

Skies = Clear

Outside Temp= 0 C

Venue = Two storey building, in addition to cellar, Large Function room on upper floor

TAPIT Team = Lee, Maz, Paul, Sarah, Richard, Cal, Monica, Clive and our guests Laura and Megan

           The team arrived between 9-9:15pm, Paul, Sarah, Richard and Laura were the first arrivals and were immediately greeted with activity in the backrooms of the function room, Paul and Richard headed into the back rooms with all lights and both heard a cough and groan in the kitchen, moments later Sarah and Laura heard a shuffling noise closely followed by a hissing sound at the entrance to the function room. The team assembled and had a brief meeting whilst we waited for the bars downstairs to empty.

             The investigation began with an energy building session in which the team witnessed cold breezes, shortly after the team headed into the back rooms, the kitchen offered plenty of activity, several orbs caught on film shortly followed by distant knocks and bangs seemingly upon request, the team also heard a door in the next room open, Paul investigated to find the door firmly shut. The temperature fluctuated around the room but Richard complained of feeling cold and on inspection the temperature around him was 4 degrees colder than the rest of the room with no obvious explanation. The team then set up the crucifix trigger object surrounded by motion sensors in the kitchen after Clive and Maz attempted further contact with the use of Crystals, Monica came up with the name “Eleanor”

             After a short break the Team began a glass séance in the function room with Paul, Maz, Sarah, Richard and Megan to see if they could contact the spooks previously encountered at the Bentinck, sure enough within seconds of the séance starting “George” made his presence known with some clear and violent movements around the table……. One thing was clear he wasn’t pleased to see Paul and immediately replied not during a yes and no answer questioning session. After being joined by several guests the team switched to table tipping, unfortunately George and the other Bentinck spirits had took a back seat for now!

             The team moved downstairs into the bar areas, The guests were eager to carry out further glass and table séances which the team did, we attempted a dual glass experiment which gave some good results before a séance around George’s table had an emotional effect on Paul and Richard as George once again came through clearly and confirmed some accurate information, Maz asked if George would appear on camera for us and sure enough after taking a photo an orb was caught between Paul and Richard. George also said he was protecting the team (except Paul of course) from the other spirits at the Bentinck, would things take a turn for the worse in future investigations as George also informed Monica he was ready to move on and would like her to show him the way.

             The team relocated to the stage bar with the guests, Richard and Lee and several guests began table tipping, with excellent results, the bar table at one point literally tipped over, leaving all on lookers amazed, There were also several temperature fluctuations at times around the séance who’s members were complaining of being hot and warm the temperature was in fact 5 and 6 degrees cooler around them than with the rest of the room.

             Maz, Monica, Megan and Sarah attempted a mini vigil in the toilets and the adjacent bar with little response, they also tried to encourage spirit to throw marbles back to them but unfortunately on this occasion the spirits didn’t want to play..

             The most remarkable moment of the night occurred when our Medium and Psychic artist Monica produced a picture of a spirit man she’d picked up on before the Investigation, she felt she simply had to draw this person in case he had any relevance on the investigation or the Bentinck, Paul asked George during a séance if this picture was of him, he answered yes! On revealing the drawing to the owners of the Bentinck we were all amazed when the land lady confirmed this drawing to be a striking resemblance to that of George in his younger days.

             The whole team regrouped in the back rooms to the function room, as the next set of vigils began Paul and Richard checked on the trigger object to find that it had moved by a least an inch!!

             The back room brought a few more knocks and taps, the EMF meter also seemed to be effected by a spirit who used bleeps on the EMF to respond, unfortunately no clear information was gathered except for 24 bleeps when asked how many other spirits were there with us? Something confirmed by George earlier in the night.

             The team regrouped in the function room around 4:15am but the activity had lost it’s energy and with the team once tiring too it was time to call it a night.

             Unfortunately the investigation plan went out of the window early on and not all of the experiments and vigils we had hoped to carry out had been achieved, however this was still a really good night bringing up some remarkable results…………...once again however, the Bentinck still left the team feeling that there is still plenty of answers waiting to be discovered…. We will be back later in the year for the Open Night and hopefully another investigation, the spirits here certainly deserve our attention and we will not disappoint them.

Main events of the night:

· Cough, Shuffling and hissing witnessed by Paul, Richard, Sarah and Laura on arrival

· The Confirmation of Monica’s drawing to be that of George

· Excellent results with the glass and the contact with George

· The full tilt over of the bar table

We will return, this place is really starting to feel like home to the TAPIT team.
